March in review

Ella Botting

Inspired by @paulienuh as always I've decided to start a monthly review of all the happenings in my life (finalllllly... lol jk). Even if no one gives AF about this, reflecting is saa good for the olde mental health & I can't commit to doing it daily, so why not?

Highlights

  • Completing a full week of user research fundamentals training in Newcastle. Iā€™m now a UR queen šŸ‘‘šŸ’ā€ā™€ļø

  • I got better at skiing ā›·

  • I was asked to help an amazing start up with their user research as I seem like someone with "good project management skills" šŸ˜

  • Starting to volunteer for Refugees at Home

  • Getting more sign ups to my e-newsletter yasssss šŸ“

  • My first performance review at work went SUPER well šŸ†

  • Visiting my best friend in Italy whoā€™s studying a masters in cognitive neuroscience šŸ§  sheā€™s so clever šŸ’“

  • Celebrating my gorgeous boyfriendā€™s 24th šŸ•ŗšŸ¼

improving the BBC weather site

Lowlights (is lowlights a word? the rubbish bits)

  • Not managing to finish my guest blog post for cyberscanner as quickly as Iā€™d have liked to

  • Communication problems leading to misunderstandings ā˜¹ļø

  • Travelling over 5000 miles WITHIN the uk, whereā€™s the ā˜€ļø at?

  • I thought I would be publishing my first reading list/newsletter this month but tooooo much has happened. I wasnā€™t thinking of just posting it anyways, but I want it to be good, so Iā€™ll wait šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

Gainz

  • 32kg bench press šŸ‹ļøā€ā™€ļø

  • I went for several runs (ok only for like 10 mins each, chill bish) but I DON'T RUN, so this is progress right?

  • Hello back bends šŸ‘‡ (yes my shoulder mobility is shit)

  • Started gymming BEFORE work šŸ˜“

this is what you start doing when you spend a week alone in a hotel

Goals for April

  • SAVE SOME MONEY

  • Meditate.every.day šŸ§˜šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø

  • Working on improving my confidence when it comes to backing myself in sticky situations šŸ’¦ (anyone have any tips for this??)

  • Move into London, canā€™t hack the commute anymore peeps šŸš‚

Quote of the month

ā€œPast behaviour is the best predictor of future behaviourā€ šŸ¤” food for thought? Iā€™d say so. Using this to compete against my past, inconsistent gym going, self šŸ’ŖšŸ»
