Where to stay?
Conveniently located in the West Village, The Jane should be your number one choice. Close to the High Line, the Hudson and a plethora of delicious eateries. I honestly couldn't have asked for more. The hotel was historically for sailors, but they've up-cycled the decor and it is so0oo0o chic. The bathrooms are shared, but are cleaner than my own, and the hotel provides towel, robes and slippers, which I totally didn't expect. Considering the hotel's location, it's fabulously priced. The rooms are small, and I stayed in a bunk bed room, but for me that made it all the more charming. Each bunk has a TV, sockets and AC đ

How to get around
Hop on/ hop off bus. Get the 48 hour deal, it's cheap and cheerful, you can see the whole of Manhattan in your two days. You get a free boat journey to the Statue of Liberty and an amazing view of the skyline. The only downside is that they play the same 3 songs about New York when they're not telling you facts (which is quite a lot of the time). If I hear Concrete Jungle one more time I think I may have a nervous breakdown.
Must see
The fearless girl statue on Wall Street. Get off stop number 12 (Battery Park) on the Downtown tour. You'll notice there's a lot more people trying to get a photo with The Bull statue, which says it all really.
Central Park. If you purchase the 48 hour hop on/ off tour, you get the Uptown & Harlem tour included too, which cover the whole park.
Times Square (at night)
Manhattan skyline (from the aforementioned boat trip)
