I gained a project intern! I really want to learn how to manage and delegate well, so this is a really cool opportunity for me.
Extensively planned my next round of research. It's going to be hectic - but hopefully that means we'll learn lots!
Did some peer reviewing, which was good practice for interviewing and shifting candidates.
I had my first adventure in North America. Managed three cities (Toronto, Montreal and New York) in eight days, they were all awesome, but I definitely need to spend more time in America. We did so many tours, I honestly learnt so many things (someone get me to a pub quiz). I only had 48 hours in New York, but thanks to the hop on, hop off bus I managed to see pretty much all of Manhattan, including the fearless girl statue! Here's my google maps list, there's not much on there thanks to the 48 hour thing. Keep an eye out for some travel posts soon.
Got to see and spend time with some of my best friends on the trip. I bumped into some of my most beloved along the way too. I'm so grateful my parents moved us to the UAE 15 years ago, as a result of living there I've got friends all over the globe, which I LOVE. Plus free accommodation is the best accommodation, amirite?!
Getting my shit together
Reached out to a therapist. I've been saying to myself for a while that I need to go back to counselling and I've finally made steps towards doing so. Mental health wise, things are better than they've ever been, but I still have a physical panic attack most days and I don't think I'm coping very well with stress. Looking forward to working towards being calmer.
Finally saw a doctor about some pain I've had for a while, going for a scan next week. Fingers crossed all is good and even if it's not at least I should know what's going on.
Things I could have done without:
Not managing my money very well when I was on vacay. I'm back in my overdraft booooooooo.
I look like I've got pink eye 24/7 - I promise I don't. I hate hayfever.
I'm looking forward to:
Double dating with my bestie. We're going to see Book of Mormon and I've heard its fucking hilarious.
Having my sister (who still lives in Dubai) come to stay with me.
Spending two whole bank holiday weekends doing NOTHING with Tommy.
Giving Cyber Women a re-brand. Actually, I'm not I really can't be arsed. But I'm looking forward to making my font more accessible.
Book of the month
I couldn't put Ordinary People down. It's based in Crystal Palace, where I live, which made me love it even more.
Product of the month
Having my collapsable coffee cup meant I didn't have to waste coffee cups while I was abroad. In New York they leave the rubbish out on the street (just like in London) and I was absolutely blown away by how many coffee cups/ plastic water bottles were thrown away each day :( I also took my water bottle, which DOESN'T LEAK, gedddddit.
